I’ve been wanting to make a writing blog for a while now but never actually got around to doing so until now. I wanted a place where I can talk freely about my project that I’ve been working on for over a year, where I can talk about my OC’s all the time, and the different genres I adore without annoying the people on my main.
Even though I will frequently be talking about my project I obviously won’t be giving much information away, for both spoiler reasons and my fear of others taking my ideas.
I’m still setting things up so for right now the blog might be a little messy but it will be cleaned up eventually.
I wasn’t even aware that there was a writeblr community until now. Let me introduce myself, I go by the name Lin. I’m a 20 year old economics student and English is not my native language, I learned it all by myself so I apologize for any small mistakes I make. I usually write short stories about my own feelings or experiences and fictionalize it somehow. I didn’t share many of my stories but I feel now is a good time to start. I will tag them under the hashtag “my writing”
I don’t consider myself to be a writer. I’m not that good and I treat it as a small hobby. Please don’t take my writing too seriously.
I’m very friendly. You can always message me and ask me to read your writing:) You can message me about anything really. You will never get a mean or cold answer from me💕
Hello Writeblr community. I’m new! Let me in, this place seems neat. :)
Here’s my deal: I tend to write horror with a literary bent. Most of it is contemporary, although I have a couple of short stories set in vaguely alt-historic settings. Themes tend to run toward body horror, longing, isolation, community, and humanity’s relationship with nature. I like weird stuff, and begin a lot of stories with a surreal concept and try to make something odd out of it. Other times I fall out of my chair and land in sci-fi, magic realism, or even tiny bits of romance.
Works in Progress:
-I’m in rewrites for my first novel about a young woman who is overcoming the violent death of her best friend while she works as a transcriptionist/researcher for a senile anthropologist. She’s helping him develop a manuscript that is part autobiography, part chronicle of an elder demon he’s been tracking across a variety of islands. As the MC tries to filter the professor’s memories from his insane ramblings, she begins to question her own sanity. She discovers tragic secrets about the professor’s family, is haunted by survivor’s guilt and PTSD, all while coping with her own hallucinations and nightly visitations by a strange cat-like figure
The professor’s wife is the third main character, but she’s harder to explain in a blurb. The novel is told in a somewhat epistolary style with lots of documents and first-hand accounts. So if you like demons, cats, intrigue, and attempts at inverting gothic tropes, this is my love-letter to you.
-Various short stories. There are always short stories….
I would love to connect with other people on writeblr, so let’s follow each other. I love giving feedback and hope that connecting up with other writers will help get me out of my writing slump nee depression that’s been making rewrites take FOR-EV-ER.
I doubt I’ll have the time to make those neat character aesthetic collages, but I’ll probably reblog everything about opossums or octopuses that I see.
I made one of these but it disappeared and never showed up in the tags??
I’m 19 and very new to this but the writing community on here seems very helpful and cool. I have recently gotten back into writing after about four years (yikes, I know)
I’d love to follow more writers on here so please like or reblog or something if you are also in the writeblr community.
I mostly enjoy fantasy, horror, a bit of sci-fi, poetry is nice, lgbt+, uhh idk, really anything!
My current wip is a modernish fantasy, I’ll mostly be sharing inspiration pictures and stuff about my characters on here I think. Also I’ll be reblogging work from other writers and all that too.
Hi everyone! My name’s Rose, I’m 28 and French, and I’ve been on Tumblr for a while, but I started writing a few months ago only (after a long hiatus). I’m trying that whole introduction stuff, to reach the writing community and connect with cool people.
The first thing I wrote was in high school. It was a concept about a teenage girl who dies and comes back to life as a grim reaper. Her name was Rose Lacroix, hence my pen name and the username RoseReaper. I’m a disorganised mess, who jumps between outlining or writing for a few minutes, then tries to draw, then researches random stuff that could be useful (or not).
I don’t post much on my personal account, but I reblog a lot of:
Fandom related content
Animals and nature pictures
Food pictures
Writing tips and resources
Memes
I created a secondary account for my WIP The Aroostook Witch. It will be a urban fantasy mystery series of standalone books, about the adventures of witch Astrid Reynarsdóttir and sorcerer Nathaniel Sharpe, Wardens of the county of Aroostook in North Maine. You can expect magic, blood, LGBT+, POC, disabled and neurodivergent characters.
I have more in store than what’s currently on the blog, so if you want to know more feel free to message me! I’d love to talk to people who write the same genre, but I enjoy other stuff too so don’t be shy!
Well, okay, not exactly NEW, as I’ve been quietly lurking for a while.
Hi, I’m Ro, and I’m currently trying to get over myself so I can actually write stuff. Part of this includes forcing myself to post my work! I’ll also be participating in Camp Nano because there’s no better motivator than a deadline.
I will mostly be posting about my WIPs, as well as prompt fills, moodboards, bits of writing advice, and all of the other usual odds and ends! Feel free to message me about being on your tag list, tagging me in tag games, or shooting me a pm anytime :) I’ve got a fair bit of anxiety so I’m not the quickest to answer, but I’ll try my best.
More about my WIPs under the cut! I hope I’ll make some new buddies and support wonderful peoples art, while bettering my own. I’d also love to start a book review blog at some point in the near future, so keep an eye out for that if you’d like.
